Working While Retired

Retired

Recently - like today - it was brought to "our" attention that we are actually making less money than when I was working. We had hoped to be making a little more so we could "do some things" ...  like visit our grandsons in Everett, Washington.

Today my wife had to talk herself into spending $5 - on sale - on a swag for the bedroom. She did, but was frantic about having to do so. I appreciate how she feels. I feel similarly. Both of us are "losing" our cool about the lack of funds we thought we would have for the rest of our life.

Obviously this is putting a lot of strain on our marriage. We will make it by the grace of God. He has brought us this far.

A Little Change Here & There

Working

So now I need to find "a little change" and a few changes, as well. With a change to my non-schedule I can rearrange my open time to work.

I have wanted to make Tilden Editing Services be a money-making venture. This seems to be a very good time to do this. I don't want this to get flagged as an ad, so I will just ask you to Google my name.

So, soon, I will be working. I used to work and make what I'm making now. Now I will be making what I made when I was working and however much I can make over and above that.

I'm not really sure where Walmart or Costco are around here, and I really can't stand all day. Sitting at my computer or at a desk seems pretty cushy, to me. I'm ready to work like a retiree any minute, now!!

I have faced the same problem. When I retired about eight years ago I thought it wouldn't be that hard to get a part time job. However we moved to an area where business was down. Now I don't know if health will allow me to work even if I found a job.

Hello Wayne, funny I just realized how being unemployed can be a real drag and not nearly the delightful change required to make the long sought difference in my life. So I'm chasing the free-lance writing dream, political activist dream where volunteering isn't a freebie, and I too figure a Wal-Mart greeter position is in my future.

take care and if I can use your services I will look you up... I pay in quarters...

Kevin,

Shame on me. I had accepted your comment without reading it. I'm willing to accept funds for my services even if it DOES meaning rolling quarters!
